What weatherproof paint is used on outdoor ramps? We use a high-quality exterior paint rated for up to 5 years of weather protection. It’s widely available from most DIY stores, so you can easily top it up in the future. If you’d like, we can send you a direct link to the exact product we use.
Are your ramps suitable for outdoor use? Yes — all of our ramps are built with outdoor use in mind. We use weather-resistant materials including treated timber and hex phenolic surfaces on the sides and platforms, which help protect against moisture and wear. Combined with the exterior paint, this gives the ramp strong long-term durability outside.
Do you build ramps for councils and community spaces? Yes — we design and build custom skatepark ramps for councils and community spaces, following relevant UK safety standards.
Community ramps are typically larger and built to handle heavier, regular use. They often include larger platforms and benefit from Skatelite surfaces for long-term durability.
We can also help with design, layout and budgeting to make the most of your space and available funding.
If you’re a local council or organisation looking to upgrade or add equipment, get in touch and we can start the consultation.
Do you install the ramp? Yes — we handle the full installation. We position, level, and set the ramp up properly on-site, making sure it’s solid and ready to ride. We’ll also talk through the best setup for your space to get the most out of it.
Can I contact Roll-in on WhatsApp? Yes — you can use our business WhatsApp to get in touch with any questions about your ramp.
We’re happy to help with everything from ramp sizes and surface options to installation. You can message or call us anytime.
What are your delivery costs? We include delivery and installation within 150 miles of Northampton for half pipes, and within 50 miles of Northampton for quarter pipes and other obstacles. If you’re further out, we’ll just add a small charge to cover time and fuel — feel free to ask for a quote.
What happens after I place an order? Once your order is placed, we’ll get in touch to confirm the details. For installed ramps, we’ll ask for photos and information about access, ground type (grass or hard standing), and any specific requirements so we can plan the install properly.
What are the payment options? You can pay in two instalments (50% deposit and 50% on installation) when paying by bank transfer (BACS). If you pay by credit or debit card, PayPal, or Apple Pay, full payment is taken at checkout.
If I need to cancel my order, what is the refund policy? All ramps are built to order. If you need to cancel, we will refund 90% of your order value to cover materials and time already committed.
How can I make the ramp run smoother and quieter? The biggest factor is the type of skateboard wheels you use. We recommend softer wheels like Ricta Clouds — typically 92a or even 86a if you want it really quiet. The softer the wheel, the more grip you get and the less noise it makes. In our experience, 92a is the sweet spot for most people. You can also reduce noise further with double ply surfaces or Skatelite upgrades.
What safety and finishing details do you include? We fit end caps into the coping (metal tube) for a clean finish and added safety. We can also include back panels and safety rails if needed — just let us know what works best for your space.
Do I need a tarpaulin cover? We provide fitted tarpaulins for our half pipes, along with connectors and cables to secure them properly. Covers are not essential, but they can help prolong the life of wood-finished ramps.
If your ramp uses Skatelite, a cover is not required. The hex phenolic platforms and sides also do not require paint top-ups. However, marine ply or birch skating surfaces may need a paint top-up around once a year to keep them in good condition.
How do you protect the ramp from ground moisture? Airflow is important for keeping a ramp in good condition. We slightly raise the ramp on small grey blocks to allow air to circulate underneath. This helps prevent moisture building up and stops the timber from soaking up water from the ground.
How long will it take for my ramp to be installed from the time of order? Our lead time is typically 10–14 days from the time of order.
We’ll arrange an installation date that works for you. Most installs are completed in a single day. As builds are weather dependent, if conditions aren’t suitable, we’ll move the install to the next available dry day to make sure everything is built properly.
What size ramp should I go for? This depends on your space and how you want it to ride. As a guide:
| Ramp Height | Length (ft) | Length (m) |
|---|---|---|
| 2ft (0.6m) | 16–19ft | 4.9–5.8m |
| 2.5ft (0.75m) | 18–21ft | 5.5–6.4m |
| 3ft (0.9m) | 21–23ft | 6.4–7.0m |
| 3.5ft (1.05m) | 22–24ft | 6.7–7.3m |
| 4ft (1.2m) | 22–25ft | 6.7–7.6m |
As a rule, the bigger the ramp, the longer it needs to be for a smooth, rideable transition. 16ft works well in most single garages (typically around 16ft long x 8ft wide). If you’re unsure, send us your space and we’ll recommend the best setup.
